Tool Management System Since 1982 In 1982, together with FIAT (currently FCA - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), SPERONI took the centralized Tool Room and Tool Management System application to the next level. The on-time delivery every day of the right tool to the right machine when running 5,000-6,000 different cutting-tool assemblies on scores of machine tools on five automotive-engine-machining lines is quite an achievement. These are the contributions of a computerized tool presetting and management system to the smooth running of Fiat’s Termoli 3 engine plant.

SPERONI PRO SHRINK TUBECHILLER is a combination shrink and cooling system. The temperature of the shrink fit chuck is continuously measured during the inductive heating process and maintained at a predefined limit, eliminating the potential to overheat the tool.

Heating And Cooling Process After the shrink process, the enclosed tube of the chiller automatically lifts from the unit’s base, encompassing the tool. As the tube rises, it fills with coolant to cool down the hot tool. While the tube is moving up, the coil moves back to the start position.

ISO 1940 •The generally-known balancing standard ISO 1940 promises simple and fast tolerance measurement. •Required data is: grade g, rotational speed of the tool holder and the weight. •Partial values not suitable for practical use. •Does not take into account the interface rigidness, measurement error of the machine, etc. Example HSK 40 tool holder, permissible residual unbalance .29 gmm > corresponds to .0145g (14 milligram). Such values are easy to achieve in theoretical terms, but unfortunately not in practice, because the worker has to work to 14 milligram accurate drilling.
